You bet i'm feeling down.
i've grown, in every sense of the word.

I have absolutely no idea why this only occurred to me now, but now that it has, I now know better. My literature teacher keeps saying in her lessons that we need to think for ourselves, why certain things are, and what they mean. She repeats, seemingly endlessly, that we need to figure out the missing links; the bits and pieces of the puzzle that were missing from the entire picture.

She warns us not to go into the exam with only what she has taught us.

I don't know why I'm pondering over her words so intensely at this time of the night. But now, i know how to link this piece of advice to the emotions and issues that lay infront of me in fragments.

Alot of times when we are presented with an emotinally parasitic circumstance, we naturally go to our friends and loved ones to seek advice. It's effective nonetheless, because the problems we had faced were solved. However, we find ourselves very quickly running back to them when another obstacle hinders us from moving on. We do this so often, going round and round this circle, that we forget how to be independant. We forget how to stand on our own two feet. We forget how to solve our own problem. All because we deal with situations with only what is taught to us.

We forget to look deep within for answers and we end up being a lost soul with no sense of identity. We eventually are unable to ever search for these answers because we don't know enough about ourself to deal with situations whose solution require instinct. Man never became so successful by asking God what to do whenever he had a problem. He dealt with it in his own way, using his own instinct.

Instinct was given to us for the sole purpose of giving us hints to solve our difficulties. Intuition was bestowed upon Man so we could sense things before they happened. Instinct gives us our experience in dealing with what our Intuition may pick up, again. Intelligence allows us to adapt our instincts according to each and every unique situation. They all work hand in hand, and in the end, Man became successful. Man became independant. Man became strong.

Now we are so pampered, that small, petty obstacles intimidate us, and we cower away in a corner waiting for someone to ask if we're okay, and pull you into their arms for safety.

My literature teacher was right when she said that literature is a reflection of life. My literature teacher was right when she told us to solve our own questions, our qualms and our doubts by using our instinct, intuition, and our intelligence. She was right to say that we'd never survive by just following whatever was taught us.

We needed to think for ourselves, or we'd fail.
