Fighting for women's rights again.

I hate to admit it but seriously, a part of me is really quite the radical. I swore i wouldn't go back to fighting for women's rights, but here i am writing an entry on it. Sheesh.

I just saw this quote by Beyonce, who said that "a strong woman needs a strong man".

I saw that and went like FUCK. What utter crap! How degrading to all womankind. People go on and on about how Beyonce is shaping the new look, and leading women to a whole new level of self-respect and success. Honey I'm sorry, but if she is talking shit like this, she doesn't deserve that much credit.

I'm listening to Christina Aguilera now and her song called "Can't Hold Us Down" is on replay. It should be on replay on every woman's playlist. A woman should never be "glad" to go fetch her husband's slippers. A woman should not derive their self-worth from their husbands.Men, we all agree aren't the Alpha-males they once were during their primitive years - if anything they've gone soft! Women shouldn't look to THESE people to derive their self-worth.

No one should derive their self-worth from anyone else as a matter of fact! Ridiculous, I say, ridiculous! Women, please have more respect for yourselves. You're the dark horse. You're picking up the slack. You've risen above your 18th century oppression. Don't go back to that state, please i beg of you.

If you're going to get something for your husband, let it be an act of love or a favour. Don't let him take control and don't let anyone tell you that "a strong woman needs a strong man".

I'm anti-bootylicious for now, as far as i'm concerned. Period.
