the old lady.the old lady sat
by herself under the flat.
she smiled and ate
the durian; embracing her fate.
the old lady sighed,
looking at the little ones passing by,
while their mothers strode
alongside almost nonchalantly along the road.
strange, the old lady thought.
how we never quite think we did anything wrong
until it is too late.
reminiscing, regretting, she sat
there right under the flat.
a silky breeze grazed her wet
face upon which a tear was shed.
sitting there, the old lady smiled,
accepting her fate,
forgetting her lost child,
she sat there in that pitiful state
and returned to the durian after that slight delay
even though she knew she would regret it someday.
