When the Coffee BurnsIt's early in the morning
And it's like every other day;
The coffee's on the boiler brewing
While the toast is being made.
You sit around and wait after
Finishing your chores
Till the draining of black Life is over-
But you're surprised by what's in store.
What used to help you through
The day is now dealing you pain
That sears. And you lose
Your mind - all reason maimed
By confusion and the lack
Of congruity in what used to be.
All the facts
Now just can't seem to agree.
When the pain is done
In one short moment, all
Has changed and you realise some
Of her burns cannot be erased. Raw
Flesh remains of what fate
Has brought to hurt.
The coffee leaves much to hate
When it slowly starts to burn.
